Bathrooms and powder rooms are some of the most boast-worthy rooms in any house. If you are good at creating designs or have an eye for interior decor, then you should choose your vanity and be proud. There are a lot of options when it comes to bathroom vanities.
One choice you’ll have to make is your tile. Will your vanity have a tiled top? How will it match your bathroom floor? Better yet, what about your backplash?
Tile options alone are worth spending time on.
If you are installing or replacing a vanity, then the choice may be easier, unless you are also re-tiling the bathroom at the same time. All you have to do is find a vanity that matches your current tile and wall decor. Otherwise, you’re starting from scratch – which isn’t always a bad idea.
Many tile materials make great vanities. Glass mosaic, for instance, can be very crafty. You can create some beautiful designs.
Natural stone tends to be more classical in nature. Depending on the stone, your bathroom could carry a hard look or a smooth look. From travertine to marble, you have a pretty good range of densities to choose from. You can go with an earthy tone or something more luxurious and upscale.
Then you have the more plain-looking tiles like ceramic and porcelain, which aren’t always so “plain.”
There is no reason not to take your vanity seriously. It is, after all, a reflection of you. Be proud of your tastes and make choices that reflect your own aesthetic.
