If you have an old ceramic tile floor, then there is a good chance you may have one or two damaged tiles. Ceramic floor tiles will last a long time if cared for properly, however, if you purchased a home with a ceramic floor, you have no idea what the previous owners have done to that floor. Damaged floor tiles can be replaced, however, the biggest problem will be finding a tile that matches the existing tiles.
Our suggestion is to remove all or a part of the damaged tile and to bring that piece in to one of our showrooms. Our tile experts will do their best to help you find a tile that best matches the broken tile. Whilst it’s almost impossible to find a perfect match, it is possible to find tiles that are very similar, unless of course the tile is part of a larger mosaic pattern or has a design of its own.
There are solutions if you can’t find an exact match, however, they will require more work on your behalf. One option is to replace the whole floor, however, that is not always practical, especially in financial terms. You could create a design of your own by removing more tiles and replacing them all with contrasting tiles – for example, if you have cream floor tiles, replacing those you have removed with darker tiles. You can then create a design of your own.
